hard femmes are my undoing\nunravelling me piece by piece\nI costume myself in knee-high boots,\n             black leather jacket, smoky black eyeliner\ncosplaying someone beautiful\ndesigned to make you swoon\nundo you long enough\n             to let me in\n\nmy hair always picks up the scent\n             of your shampoo-ad mane\nfrom the single pillow in your twin bed\nI\u2019m too fucking old for this\nbut there\u2019s nowhere else I\u2019d rather be instead\n\nI almost buy you a second pillow\nbefore you break it off with me\nsaving me the trip to Bed Bath and Beyond\ncredit-card evidence\n             of how hard-up I am\n<\/pre>\n\n\n\n

Catherine Lewis<\/a><\/h3>\r\n                    
Catherine Lewis<\/strong> (she\/her) is a Chinese Canadian writer based in Vancouver. Her debut poetry chapbook\u00a0Zipless<\/span><\/i>\u00a0(845 Press) is a finalist for the 2021 Bisexual Book Awards in both the Poetry and the Bi Writer of the Year categories. Her poetry and creative nonfiction are published or forthcoming in\u00a0The Humber Literary Review<\/span><\/i>,\u00a0Pulp Literature<\/span><\/i>,\u00a0PRISM international<\/span><\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0The Fiddlehead<\/span><\/i>.
