Please Don’t Make Me Shoot You

~Matthew Tierney

Just one day out of life just one
Morning so what do you think the most borrowed item by a
neighbour you know i was going to say lawnmower but
It ain’t easy
Shoes oh i love shoes especially
When you need a mortgage and you need it now
It don’t matter if you’re black or white
When that breeze is blowing
Put on your red shoes and dance the blues
Let it all out
Thursdays the reindeer stop by and on fridays
The pieces that were left to die brought
Bad guys like me every day is a first can i take my gun

Monday + overcast + blue: what gives? Find out in Quarc.

Matthew Tierney studied science before turning to poetry. His latest collection, The Hayflick Limit, considers “the boundaries of the cosmic and sub-atomic—how the mind contains both.”
