In This Issue
Guest edited by Armand Garnett Ruffo—Band Member of the Chapleau Fox Lake First Nation and Kingston-based Queen’s National Scholar in Indigenous Literature—this themed issue contains a wide range of established and award-winning poets as well as newer rising voices. While the theme can be broad, the poems and essays in this issue speak to the questions Ruffo poses in his Editorial Note to the issue:
“As Canada moves deeper into the twenty-first century we have to wonder what kind of country it aspires to be? Is it content to turn a blind eye while prospering at the expense of disenfranchised peoples? … what will it take for Canadians to remove the blinders they have conveniently worn since the founding of this country?”
