Andre Fenton’s “Ode to Teen Angst” reviewed by Rebecca Thomas


Andre Fenton is both an award-winning spoken word artist and filmmaker. He is currently serving his second term as a member-at-large on the Board of Spoken Word Canada, and he has represented Halifax at six national poetry slams across Canada. He won the Spirit of The Slam Award at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word 2015 in Saskatoon, and won the Youth Inspiration Award for his short film he had written and directed called Family. Andre has recently published his first book of poetry called Ode to Teen Angst, and has appeared in a collection of Canadian poetry called Oratorealis. Reach him at Andre.Fenton@Live.ca.


Rebecca Thomas is a Mi’kmaq woman, poet, activist. She is Halifax’s current Poet Laureate. She is unrelenting on her plight for reconciliation and broader understanding of Indigenous peoples. She will absolutely care too much about you.
