Andre Fenton is both an award-winning spoken word artist and filmmaker. He is currently serving his second term as a member-at-large on the Board of Spoken Word Canada, and he has represented Halifax at six national poetry slams across Canada. He won the Spirit of The Slam Award at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word 2015 in Saskatoon, and won the Youth Inspiration Award for his short film he had written and directed called Family.
