Lee Parpart’s poem “Hello goodbye“!
Sarah Tsiang and the Arc Poetry Magazine Board also selected three runners-up:
Hello goodbye
by Lee Parpart
Your dad and I both love
you.
We love you the way a
king
crab loves the little
moan
that escapes a person’s
lips
as butter
drips
along their
chin.
If small
teeth
ever sink
into
your own
flesh
you will
know
how and why to
abandon
yourself to
another.
You still have time to enter Arc’s May Award of Awesomeness!
