Poetry helps us see the world in new and unexpected ways. It helps us understand who we are, and who others are. At Arc Poetry Magazine, we believe in the value and power of poetry, and in connecting readers, poets and critics. Please support Arc as we support the ideas and the people behind great poetry.

Your donations help us:

  • support our contributing poets:
  • foster the skills of emerging poets through our Poet-in-Residence program:
  • recognize the best in poetry and poetry criticism each year, through the Diana Brebner Prize, the Poem of the Year, the Archibald Lampman Award, the Confederation Poets Prize, and the Critic’s Desk Awards.

Your donations have already helped Arc:

  • earn 13 medals and honourable mentions since 2000 at the National Magazine Awards;
  • put poetry into Canada’s classrooms;
  • connect new and established poets with readers, fans, critics and each other;
  • nurture over 40 emerging poets through our mentorship program; and
  • develop Canada’s only magazine-based Poet-in-Residence program!

How to Donate »

Arc appreciates monthly or one-time donations of any amount.

Donate monthly and you will not only be supporting Arc’s one-of-a-kind contributions to Canadian writing, but you will be listed in the “Arc Annual” issue. Choose a monthly donation of just $10, $20 or $30 CAD or more a month, and you will also receive a complimentary one-year subscription to Arc.

Legacy Donations

Help ensure a vibrant future for poetry in Canada by including a gift to Arc Poetry Society when planning your estate, or by honouring the memory of someone who loved the literary arts.

To arrange a planned gift, talk with your lawyer and include Arc Poetry Society in your will. The Society is the registered not-for-profit organization that publishes Arc Poetry Magazine and supports Arc’s other contributions to the poetry community.

For more information on planned giving to Arc, or to arrange an in memoriam donation, please contact Monty Reid at

If you’ve already planned a legacy donation to Arc Poetry Society, please let our managing editor know.
